I think so. I know that you can call applications from an UNC on a Windows
NT or greater machine.

Sorry sometimes you have to ask the easy questions. Can you use a UNC path
to call you MDB file in a script?

|PROS:
|
|1. Your drives are mapped before the Explorer interface is loaded.
This
|allows for custom scripts to manipulate explorer settings (reg hacks
for
|instance).
|
|CONS:
|
|1. Increases logon time. This is based on how many scripts are
executing.
|
|You could always use a batch file, but this might be redundant. I
guess it
|all depends on what is acceptable with your users on how long it takes
for
|the session to start (i.e. logon time).

|Subject: [THIN] Login Scripts, mapped drives and "run script
synchronously"
|
|In my MFXP environment I'm having trouble with mapped drive letters not
|finishing before an app loads. i.e. if I call a specific MDB file for
|access in a published app command line it doesn't always work since the
|mapping isn't always done. The user can manually open but that of
course
|isn't the point.
|
|What are my options besides "run scripts synchronously" or using a
batch
|file. What's the pro and con of running scripts synchronously.
|
|I've done a few different options in my login scripts for the drive
|mappings, but again it's a which pro and which con do I want to accept.
