There is a product Serverboss www.serverboss.com that will let you limit the=20 logons to the domain. You can set it by user to the number of logons that you=20 want that user to have. They do have a demo you can download and try.=20 -----Original Message----- From: Mark Lee [mailto:marklee15@xxxxxxxxx]=20 Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 6:28 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Limiting Terminal Logon to One at a time Tom, =20 have you resolved this one yet ? If not, how many servers are involved ? =20 Mark =20 Tom Erdely <te@xxxxxxxxxx> wrote: Is there a way to limit logons to a Windows 2000 terminal server so that when a user is logged on once, they cannot login again? On the same note, is there a way to limit the number of times an application is run within a session? We have 2 problems: Sometimes, people close their sessions without logging off, and relogin into a new session without closing the old one. We have set a 15 minute timeout on disconnected sessions, but our customers want a longer one. The best would be to stop their ability to login a second time. It would also be helpful if this was domain wide so that if someone is logged into 1 terminal server, they do not have the ability to login to another one. The other problem is that in their sessions, customers sometimes try and start applications (usually GoldMine 4 or 5), and although the application is running, it is hanging and shows nothing on the desktop. So, the users try to reopen the application several times which ends up in many, many processes running. Again, any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks, Tom Erdely Unitron as Lagervegen 30 4066 Stavanger =3D20 E-mail: te@xxxxxxxxxx Web: www.unitron.no Sentralbord: +47 51 81 90 10 Direkte : +47 51 81 90 13 Telefax : +47 51 81 90 20 Mobiltlf.: +47 99 23 36 22 ************************************************************************ *** This Week's Sponsor: New Wyse(R) Expedian(TM)software maximizes your server capacity--cost-effectively.
