but why is it the proper way ??
It seems to me that either will work so it doesn't really matter ??
In my opinion it is better not to have it on the DC as this is already
busy doing its own thing.

That is the proper way for an NT 4.0 Domain. For a windows 2000
domain, it
needs to be on a DC.

We run our Lic server in a NT4 domain and the lic server is not a PDC
just a Win2K member server.
Everything works fine...

Servers on the domain that he can make a member 2003 server the

3rd option: install the 2003 licensing server on the 2003 TS itself.
4th option: install the 2003 licensing server on any 2003 machine and
point the TSs to there.

Hmm, so if I'm understanding this correctly my 2 options are
1. upgrade the PDC to 2003 and install the licensing server on it.
2. Downgrade the terminal server to 2000 and install the licensing
server on
the PDC.
both options SUCK! I've always said that licensing just screws over
the
honest people.
Can you still buy windows 2000 server?
