MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 for
Microsoft Windows 2000

There are two main categories of licenses: packaged or standard licenses and
electronic licenses (formerly called Corporate License Program).

Packaged licenses are basically the licenses supplied to retailers and are
included in the packaged product (so-called shrinkwraps). These are the most
common licenses. Examples include the MetaFrame XPs Starterkit with five
user licenses.

Electronic licenses are available to corporate customers with 5000 or more
connection licenses. These licenses include:

A. ELP: Enterprise Licensing Program

B. PLP: Premium Licensing Program

C. FLEX: Current Volume Licensing scheme

The three programs are basically the same ? they just represent different
timeframes. ELP was our first scheme, replaced by PLP, and then more
recently by the FLEX program.

Open Licenses bridge the gap between packaged licenses and the electronic
licensing program.

The following table describes the differences between packaged, open, and
electronic licenses:

Type
 Volume
 Distribution
 Activation
 Fulfillment

Packaged
 0?1000 connection licenses
 By physical packs
 Manually from the mycitrix site
Instantly on the Web site (new licenses are displayed immediately)

Open
 1000?4999 connection licenses
 Electronically
 Auto-activating
 Instantly

Electronic
 5000+ connection licenses
 Electronically
 Auto-activating
Request is processed and licenses are distributed electronically

Benefits of the Packages

Electronic license packs can be custom sized. The customer can choose in how
he wants his connection licenses and what size each pack should be (for
example: 6000 licenses are available; the customer chooses five packs of
250, one pack of 234, one pack of 66, two packs of 975, and 20 packs of
125=6000). He can also change those amounts later on, making the license
count flexible. Open licenses and packaged licenses don?t have this benefit.

Open and electronic licenses are auto-activating.

Packaged and open licenses get an instant result when fulfilling the
licenses, while electronic licenses are fulfilled by a special process and
are delivered with a delay of about five working days.
