CTX113891 - Logons Disabled After Scheduled Reboot

This document was published at: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX113891

Document ID: *CTX113891*, Created on: Jul 9, 2007, Updated: Jul 9, 2007

Products: Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 for Windows Server 2003, Citrix
Presentation Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix Presentation
Server 4.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000

*Symptoms*

After a scheduled reboot, the Logon setting is disabled. This is happening
on all the servers in farm at different times and is not consistent.

With Presentation Server 4.0, in the Management Console under MetaFrame
Settings, the "Enable Logons to this server" option is no longer selected.

With Presentation Server 4.5, under Server Tasks, Other Tasks is set to
"Disable Logon."

*Cause*

When rebooting the servers, the server hosting the data store is rebooted
first and is not available before the member servers are rebooted. The
server hosting the data store needs to be back online before the other
member servers are rebooted.

*Resolution*

Schedule the member servers to reboot after the data store server has come
back online.

*Note*: The time needed for the reboot schedule will vary based on your
environment. Try setting the member server reboot for 10 minutes after the
data store server reboot and adjust the time as needed.
