CTX104064 - Error: The ICA Browser did not return any names...when mapping the Server Locator, ICA, to a DNS entry. This document was published at: http://support.citrix.com/kb/entry.jspa?externalID=CTX104064 Document ID: CTX104064, Created on: Jun 2, 2004, Updated: Jun 2, 2004 Products: Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2000, Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.0 for Microsoft Windows 2003 Symptoms After creating a host record in DNS to resolve for ICA, ICA Clients that do not have an entry in the server locator list display the following message: ?The ICA Browser did not return any names.? Cause Because we are using DNS resolution for the hostname ICA, and there is no way to set up a specific port number for hostname, the server tries to use the default port for the XML Service (the default port is 80). Resolution Make sure that all the servers are running the XML Service port 80. Note: If you are running IIS, you have to share port 80 with IIS or change the IIS port to something other than port 80 Additional Information See CTX104063 ? How to change the Citrix XML Service Port on Metaframe Servers. ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - Tarantella Secure Global Desktop Tarantella Secure Global Desktop Terminal Server Edition Free Terminal Service Edition software with 2 years maintenance. http://www.tarantella.com/ttba ********************************************************** Useful Thin Client Computing Links are available at: http://thin.net/links.cfm *********************************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link: http://thin.net/citrixlist.cfm
