Sources of the MetaFrame Password Manager Agent

The MetaFrame Password Manager Agent can be installed from different
sources. Typical synchronization issues can be resolved by knowing the
source of the Password Manager Agent .MSI file.

Password Manager Agent on the MetaFrame Password Manager 2.0 CD

The agent is on the MetaFrame Password Manager 2.0 CD in the \Agent folder.
The agent is not configured with the location of the central credential
store if it is installed from this source.

Use the Password Manager Console to customize an agent setting that
specifies the location of the central credential store and save it as a .REG
file. Import this file to the machine where you installed the agent from the
CD. Double-click the .REG file so the agent can locate the central store.

Customized Agent .MSI File

A customized version of the Password Manager Agent (with the location of the
central credential store configured) is generated by using the MetaFrame
Password Manager Console. This is the preferred means of deployment because
you can choose the agent settings that are made when the Password Manager
Agent is installed. See Pages 82?83 of the Password Manager 2.0
Administrator?s Guide for additional information about generating a
customized .MSI file for the Password Manager Agent.
