Asked to provide job description? 8000 users?!? Hope you are not
alone. With 8000 users, that should be one hell of a farm and there
should be a herd of Citrix admins there already.

They might be looking to out-source you. Oh, that's right, your in
Canada, that only happens to us yanks!!

You got it all wrong. :)

All the stuff is already up and running (MFPSv3/W2k3/WI/SGW IBM blades)
but I have been asked to provide my manager with a job description of
what I am already doing so that it can be reclassed.

I don't have one. I know it will be a fair amount of time to put
something nice together and was hoping to get a jump start on it by
asking around for one.

I guess I will have to start with your second paragraph and go from
there.

bye

Cut to the chase, were is the job at? Most full time Citrix admins on
this list knows what is involved in supporting that magnitude of users.
They could start applying now!

One can safely assume that you are running XP or MPS 3.0. Looking
forward you will want Secure Access Manager, Secure gateway or even
Citrix Access Gateway experience in addition to a deep understanding of
AD and group policies. Most likely not looking for a CCA fresh out of
class, 3, 5 or maybe even 7 years experience in medium to large
environments. Demonstrated understanding of Citrix disaster recovery
concepts and high-availability solutions.

That large of a Citrix environment calls for tight change control
discipline, technical writing skills, strong communication and team
working abilities

"Masochist" should appear in your description at some point.

Hey anyone out there got a Job description for a person who
would manage a farm with 8000 users mixed citrix/microsoft version and
apps. Including managing the staff that are also supporting?

I need something to start with trying not to reinvent the wheel.

        thanks
