 Hi folks,

we are currently having a random issue on a couple of servers with the
Lexmark T640 on windows 2003 servers which we have just applied SP1 to.

users are unable to print when using the lexmark T640 PS3 driver. all
other print driver work without a problem.

we've found that on the server having the problem, it is not creating
the DEVMODE key in HKUSERS\<sid>\Printers\Connections\,,<print
server>,<printer name>

the DEVMODE key is used to intialise the printer options(tray selection,
paper formats, etc) i believe.

there are no events reported to the event log.

when you right click the printer, select printer prferences it gives the
error: "The operation could not be completed."

MS office/notepad/etc report that there is no printer installed, but it
shows up in printers and faxes folder.

This has only started happening after installing windows 2003 SP1. but
this has not affected all servers, just randomly hitting 1 or two at a
time. a reboot will fix, but then gets screwed up again.

Does anyone have any ideas at all? we have reinstalled the driver, but
the problem has come back.

We are using ps3.0 windows 2003 sp1

thanks!
