Chris,

You're not trying to point both farm names at the same SQL DB are you?
Sure sounds like it. That'll actually work with Oracle Datastores,
(though technically, you setup the farms to run in the same named
'instance' but under different oracle user accounts) but not SQL.

If this is all in eval mode, why even mess with SQL? Create your new
farm out of an Access DB, when it's close to production ready, migrate
it into a new SQL store. In MSaccess mode, you can also 'dsmaint backup'
your IMA prior to entering your eval licenses, and then restore that
backed up DB quickly if you run into your license issues again.

We have a client that is having some eval licensing issues with a test
farm
that we are creating for them. The licenses will not delete from the
CMC,
and CLICENSE will not remove them either. So, I figured, since this is
a
brand new farm and no one connects to it, why not do a CHFARM and create
a
whole new farm.

Now, the existing farm name is called 2KTESTFARM. The new farm name is
called 2KTEST. When running CHFARM, there are a few messages, but
there's
an error message at the end:

The farm name and the database name do not match. Please verify the
names.

Now, the names are correct during the creation of the DSN file, and the
database name. When creating the DSN file, connectivity is successful.

We are using a SQL 2000 server for the datastore. Any suggestions on
how to
resolve this without having to re-install MetaFrame? If we need to
re-install MetaFrame again, that isn't going to be a problem. But I
would
like to know why CHFARM never works.
