Jim do you not use the new fangled Wise MSI Editor yet? Now part of the
deployment Server product.

Rapid Install Package. Basically it is a utility that lets you do a baseline of
the system, make your change/install programs or whatever and then it rescans
the system and compares the changes to the baseline and creates an exe (which
can be converted to an msi file with included utility) that can be pushed out
to your clients and ran. It can be run with admin privs, or no privs needed
and also set to run without prompting.
So for example you wanted to deploy Microsoft Office across your organization
you could do a RIP of it and set it up with only things you want in it and push
it out. It is a very powerful utility. We use it all the time to push out
changes to our workstations.
It is part of the Altiris Client Management Suite

NVM guys I ended up going ahead and just doing it with 2 Altiris Rip Files and
adding them to the Desktop folder of the profile. Took me 5 hours but works a
champ.

Does anyone know of a utility or can suggest a good way that I can create a
shortcut that changes a property on a printer and then change it back? I was
thinking of maybe doing it in an Altiris rip file but there has to be an
easier way.

The idea I have and what I want to do is be able to create 2 shortcuts on a
users desktop to create a quick way to change from single sided to double sided
printing without having to click a dozen times to find it in printer
properties. One to turn on double sided printing for the printer and a second
one that resets the printer back to single sided printing. Anyone tried this?
I know I could probably do it with a reg file but we do not allow our users
access to running regedit.
