Thanks for the reply Michel, After the problem boot, I could not start the IMA service manually. To get the IMA service started, I first had to run a "dsmaint recreatelhc", and then start the service. I then googled this article, "how to delay loading of specific services" at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;193888&Product=win2000. Following the instructions, I then added the "TCPIP" & "N100" (network card) services to the dependonservice list. After one reboot, so far so good. J >>> mrdizzz@xxxxxxxxx 10/02/2006 07:04 >>> Joe, You could play around with the service restart settings, especially the "restart service after" setting could help. However I sounds very strange to me that NIC software starts that late that it prevents the IMA service form starting correctly. Imagine Computer Policies and such... they would sure have a problem then. Perhaps the eventlog entries about the NIC aren't that accurate.... HTH... Regards, Michel Roth 2006/2/9, Joe Grainger <JAG@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:Hello all, I have just completed creating a scheduled automated image of a CPS4 server using ghost solution suite. After imaging, when the server rebooted, the IMA service failed to start. This is the second time in 3 days that the IMA service has failed following a reboot. I have probably rebooted the server between 5 and 10 times over the 3 day period, following software updates and a previous automated image, so this problem does not always happen after a reboot. Looking at the system event log, the IMA service actually attempts to start before the PCI bus is initialised. The PCI bus has 2x teamed network cards connected, which add entries into the system event log when activated. Does anyone have an opinion to offer as to what would be the best way to ensure the IMA service starts only after the network interfaces are active?
