One thing I noticed on IE7 is that there is a segregation of "trusted" and "untrusted" sites into different processes. You can see this in a desktop deployment. If you work with IE for a while visiting many sites with the multiple tabs, you will have 2 copies of IE running - with trusted sites in one and untrusted in the other. This might be related to what you are seeing. There are also many cases where a user request can get "lost" somewhere between the two. A great example is anything using passport. You trust a site, click on a link that wants you verified and somewhere between the bouncing over and back (if you don't have ALL the passport sites as trusted) you'll loose it and end up with nothing. It looks like I'm going to have to rebuild the server as no matter what I try I can't seem to fix this issue. _____ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ahearn, Matthew Sent: Friday, 19 January 2007 11:56 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: IE 7 opens then closes I had this issue a while back with IE6, disabling speedscreen for flash and then updating flash to the latest version (I think 9 right now), then re-enabling speedscreen resolved it. Recently installed Office 2003 and Internet Explorer. Previously it was running Office XP and IE6 without any issues. Now when a user opens Internet Explorer it immediately closes again. This happens via rdp or ica. However, it works just fine as an admin. I've tried creating a test user that doesn't have any user group policies applied to it but the fault still occurs. Suggestions?
