Does it have to do with the script running?
There is a setting....in the internet option, about screen refresh. I think
you need a specific level of IE for it to show though.

Having problems with IE 5 on a NT 4 TSE box.
The splashscreen just flashes. I have dealt
with this before but I am getting old and CRS.
I looked on thethin.net but could'nt see it.
Anyone remeber how to fix it?
