This is an optional field. The password, if used, must be encrypted. To enter an encrypted password into the ICA file, use the Citrix ICA Client Remote Application Manager New Entry Wizard to create a remote application entry. When you are prompted for the username and password, enter the password that you want to use in the ICA file. Finish the New Entry wizard. Open the file APPSRV.INI in the Windows directory and locate the entry you just created. Copy the password value and paste it into your ICA file. ClearPassword= Specifies the clear text (unencrypted) password for the user account. This is an optional field. To use a clear text password, the Password field must be set to a null value (for example: Password=). **************************************** -----Original Message----- From: Rowlandson, John [mailto:John.Rowlandson@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 08 November 2002 10:52 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: ICA file that includes authentication angus i only use the 2 i mentioned earlier, username, domain , clearpassword haven't had to use a password=3D aswell. john -----Original Message----- From: Angus Macdonald [mailto:Angus.Macdonald@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, 8 November 2002 9:44 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: ICA file that includes authentication You can include a clear text password by including the following lines = in your .ica file username=3Dname password=3D clearpassword=3Dpassword To use the clearpassword entry, you must also have a blank password=3D = entry. To use encrypted passwords, create a custom connection using program neighborhood and enter the username and password you want. Then look in appsrv.ini for the [section] with the name of the custom connection you = just made. Copy the password=3D line out and include it in your .ica file, = along with the relevant username. It's a lot more secure that way, obviously. -----Original Message----- From: scott.delagrange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:scott.delagrange@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 07 November 2002 19:44 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] ICA file that includes authentication I'm trying to create an .ica file to launch a published app and I need = to pass the user credentials. I can't get the password to go. When I add username and password to the ica file, only the username is being used. How can I add the password (cleartext is ok) to the ica file? The TSE MF1.8 server is not a domain member but even if I add domain=3D = servername to the file it still fails stating incorrect password. I'm sure I'm just overlooking something simple, but what?
