I have used it before but it does require a SQL db and management server then you install the agents on the server. The agents do give a bit of overhead (typically 40 mb or Ram per server) other than that it works fine. The initial set up of the db and the management server is a bit of a pain though -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Daniel Schoppmann Sent: Thursday, January 02, 2003 5:26 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] IBM Director Hi Does anyone uses IBM Director for System Management and monitoring of Metaframe Server. An IBM technican told me it is huge and not easy to install. I have several servers with the managmenent chip on board (6000R, x235, x330) and want to know (e.g. over SMTP-Gateway) when I have e.g. a harddisk failure. What are your experiences ?
