[THIN] Re: Hyper-Threading (again!)

Hate to beat a dead horse and nit-pick, but Intel's document
talks about DESKTOP operating systems. It says that Hyper-Threading
should be disabled on the following desktop operating systems,
with Windows 2000 (all versions) listed among them. I get confused
because it does state all versions of Windows 2000, but is Windows
2000 Server considered a DESKTOP operating system? You see my
confusion?

According to http://www.intel.com/support/platform/ht/os.htm Hyperthreading
should be disabled on everything except XP. I'm sure I read earlier today
that XP runs slower on hyperthreading machines, according to Microsoft.

Our DBA is under the impression that Windows 2000 Server does NOT
support
hyper-threading, but Advanced Server does. Is there any validity to
this? The
only thing I see on Microsofts site deals with Windows XP. Any
ideas?
