This is still true (for sure with their latest clients!). And part of the
reason is the way the VM now loads.
In later clients the VM loads initially for the first user (the VM contains the
virtual registry and Virtual File system that the app uses). Then parts of the
VM that are read only and can be shared across users doesn't need to be loaded
for all users.
What we see from this is that the second instance of ANY office app or any app
in the same softricity package loads faster than if the app was loaded
locally... Word is less than 2 seconds or so etc... sometimes less.

Hmm... Perhaps I'm wrong. I have noticed that the sequencer reorders the
files that load. At one point in time, it was faster to launch a Metaframe
session running Word/Excel (Sequenced) than it was to launch and normal
installation of Word/Excel from the local machine.

That is incorrect. Softricity apps are isolated not optimized. Apps running
in the softgrid virtual environment look the same (from utilization level)
as the same app loaded locally.
TScale can optimize the usage of the app to reduce the amount of memory be
used. Softgrid doesn't do that.

Keep in mind that Softricity based apps are already inherently optimized due
to the way the sequencer packages the application. There is little/nothing
TScale would be able to do even if it could optimize the Softricity
application.

Does "NOTHING" for. That is a big word... NOTHING. Lets see
Softricity based applications are not optimized by TScale. Why? Simply
because Softricity isolates the app from everything else to TSscale doesn't
work with it (wont let is share with other sessions which would not help
softricity at all) Bernd and I spoke of this some.
Helps less with Office products...
