Do these lockups have *anyhting* in common? All running the same app? All on desktops? All the users are using the same mapped home drive? Are there servers that have never had a lockup? Just grasping at straws here... ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Shane.Rees@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, February 08, 2006 7:39 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] How To Diagnose Session Lockups ?? Hi All - this is a bit of a generalised question, but I am after some kind of guide/document/steps on how to diagnose "frozen" citrix sessions. We have a reasonable amount of user sessions that essentially "lock up / freeze" and the only thing that can be done is to reset the session and have the user log back in again. The clients are on the same 100MB switched LAN as the Citrix servers, and the clients vary from Compaq T20 & Neoware thin clients, to NT4/2000/XP laptops/desktops running ICA clients. The servers are a mix of 2000 SP4 + Win2k3 SP1 - all running Presentation Server 4. We have checked the obvious things like server performance/errors, network performance/errors, swapped out local clients, recreated user profiles etc, but because the problem is random, and affects random users, it is difficult to track a pattern/cause. The amount of sessions that are affected are relatively low in relation to the amount of concurrent user sessions across the environment (approx. 350 concurrent connections each day across approx. 14 servers - with maybe a handful of session lockups per week). Any ideas on how this type of problem can be diagnosed would be appreciated.
