We run DL380 G4 and G3. Never had any problems that I haven't had with other brands (IBM, Dell, etc). I try to avoid the 1U systems because they tend to flex a little. I'm guessing HP shaved a little too much metal off the case. The DLxx5 line (AMD chips) is very attractive from a price/performance ratio. Also, HP finally closed the gap on manageability/redundancy features. When HP first rolled out the AMD line, the Intel line had better "enterprise" caliber features. adam Greg Reese <gareese@xxxxxxxx m> To Sent by: Thin <thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> thin-bounce@freel cc ists.org Subject [THIN] HP Servers 02/10/2006 03:59 PM Please respond to thin@xxxxxxxxxxxx g i have always preferred IBM servers. My last job was an all IBM shop and I really liked the IBM gear and their support which i needed little of. My current job is an all HP shop. Personally, all it has done in convince me how much better IBM servers are. But I am not trying to open up that debate again. We're an HP shop and that won't be changing anytime soon. I am trying to put together some specs for some new citrix servers. We currently have DL380 G3 servers for Citrix. They seem a little overkill for Citrix. I would like something a little leaner. The DL360 G4 looks to fit the bill but I am told the DL360 has always been problematic and that they are still plagued with problems due to inefficient cooling. I am told the DL385 is the way to go for Citrix. Have any of you HP guys have any input on this? What HP servers are you currently using for Citrix. I am looking at a small three server extension to my current farm for about 100 users at most. Thanks!
