Speaking of Altiris, have you run into any problems deploying applications
after any of the following hotfixes are installed?

MS05-052 - KB896688
MS05-046 - KB899589
MS05-049 - KB900725

These were released with the infamous MS05-51 group...  When excluded from
the Altiris job server deployments are fine.  When any one of the three are
added, random applications fail during installation.

Yes we are in the same boat.  Another crap patch...At least we have Altiris
but we have to reverse some stuff out that we have been doing for such a
long time.  Rubbish.....

Found that everyone did not have rights to "list" for winnt or
winnt\system32.  Found no permissions on the registration folder.
