If your Win2K box is part of a 4.0 domain, you simply treat it like a 4.0 box. That is, use POLEDIT and implement NT4 policy just as you would if it were an NT4 server. It is not necessary to use the Win2K box's local policy. I've done this many, many times. Just be aware that when you upgrade the domain to AD, your system policies will stop working immediately. Since the user policy settings are handled differently in W2K you will need to use the local policy to set the user settings. However, when you do this they settings will apply to everyone.
