There's a MS utility called inuse that allows one to
replace a file in use. Not exactly what you're looking
for but possibly helpful.

I don't think it's part of the resource kit; do a search
for "inuse".

Subject: [THIN] File lock

Just wondering I believe that there is a utility that will release an os
lock on a file. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get
this utility?
