We actually have this happen to us, but I will actually reset the user session
and the file still reports as locked. What is the "unlocker" Not sure i have
heard of that utility

Next time this happens if you go to Computer Management on the server
where the file is open from and look at shared folders Open files etc
you should be able to close the file remotely. (And tell where it is
open from etc)

Unless it happens regularly, and/or she is *really* important, I'd just
use Unlocker and have done with it.

She claims she does not use any other computer.

I am wondering if anyone else is using her credentials?

Does this user use different computers to access her data? If so, go
to
the last few systems she was on and see if it's got a lock on the
file.
How about looking in WINS? I can usually find where someone is logged
in
by searching on their logon id in WINS. WINS will tell you the IP.
The
search WINS for the IP and you will get the machine name. This
assumes
she
is logged in to more than one computer at the same time.

User states she tries to open a file, it states it is "in use".

Checked, and it is, by that user (at least by her credentials).

She states she does not have it open.

How can I track what client machine has that particular file open?
