For us they usually just show up on the door with a replacement drive before
we find out that a drive failed. The gear also dials home to report any
problems to the mother ship. There support and products have been excellent!

How do you like your EMC equipment and the support EMC gives? They seemed
pretty decent when I was working with them a couple years ago at a different
job.

Um, I use EMC SAN solutions as the back-end to my MSCS clusters (among other
machines).

We also use StorageTek silos for the backup (enterprise) software.

Whilst this fits an enterprise type rationale, it does have a bearing or
cost, on complexity.

It wasn't all plain sailing is all I'll say.

For clustering (MSCS) ideally (if you want any decent support) that the
*entire* solution is on the cluster HCL.
