A few thoughts about dual monitor support.
A "true" multi-monitor support assumes presence of at minimum two desktops.
Each desktop is characterized by distinct height, width and top as well as
relative position versus each other. This scenario allows maximizing of
individual applications across particular desktop, although not all
applications are "multi-monitor aware" and might behave incorrectly by
always maximizing to the default monitor. The total real-estate available
will be [Width1xHeght1+Width2xHeight2]
A "not so true" multi-monitor support is when multiple monitors display data
from one desktop that is characterized by distinct width and height. In this
case application are not aware that there are two screens available, since
they share the same desktop. When maximized, application will take the
entire desktop, i.e. will cover both screens. The total real-estate
available in this case will be [(Width1+Width2)xHeght], where the Height is
the largest of Height1 and Height2. The top of both monitors (unlike the
previous scenario) will always be set at 0 (zero).
