I have to wonder. Could this be the end of the line for Office for the Mac?
Maybe the argument from MS will be that if you have a Windows 2000 server
and the Windows version of Office, all you need is the RDP client for the
MAC. It would certainly be a whole lot cheaper to develop and maintain a Mac
RDP client that it would be to continue to enhance a port of Office for the
Mac.

Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac OS X

Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac allows you to connect to a
Windows-based computer and work with programs and files on that computer
from your Macintosh computer. To use Remote Desktop Connection Client for
Mac, you need network access and permissions to connect to a Windows-based
computer running Terminal Services or Remote Desktop Services. These
services are included with the following Windows products:
*         Windows XP Professional
*         Windows .NET Standard Server
*         Windows .NET Enterprise Server
*         Windows 2000 Server
*         Windows 2000 Advanced Server
*         Windows 2000 Datacenter Server

System requirements

To use Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac OS X, your computer must
meet the following minimum requirements:

Processor: Macintosh PowerPC.
Operating system: Mac OS X version 10.1 or later.
Memory: 128 MB of RAM.
Hard disk: 3 MB of available hard disk space temporarily required to
complete installation; after installation, 1.1 MB of hard disk space.
Modem: 28.8 Kbps or higher.
Internet access: Internet connection through either an Internet service
provider (ISP) or a network. Internet access might require a fee to an ISP;
local or long-distance telephone charges might also apply.
Tip   If you're not sure whether your computer meets these requirements, you
can display information about your computer by using the Apple System
Profiler program included with Mac OS X. To start the program, open the
Utilities folder in the Applications folder on your hard disk, and then
double-click the Apple System Profiler icon.

Installation instructions

Before you install this download:
Depending on the file format you choose to download, make sure StuffIt
ExpanderYou are leaving Microsoft Mactopia
<http://www.stuffit.com/downloads.html>  version 6 or later and Apple Disk
Copy version 10.1 or later are installed on your computer. By default, Mac
OS X includes the correct versions of these programs.
To install this download:
1.      Print this page if you want to use it as a reference when you are
offline.
2.      Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for
this download.
3.      In the table above, click the language version and file format you
want.
4.      Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard
disk.
If you are using Internet Explorer, the Download Manager saves the file to
the desktop unless you specified a different download folder in the
Preferences dialog box (Download Options pane).
5.      On your hard disk, double-click the file that you downloaded in step
4 to expand it and mount the Remote Desktop Connection volume.
Depending on the Web browser that you are currently using, this step might
be performed for you automatically.
6.      On the Desktop, open the Remote Desktop Connection volume.
If you do not see the Remote Desktop Connection volume on your Desktop,
locate and double-click the RDC100ENU.dmg disk image file.
7.      Copy the Remote Desktop Connection folder from the Remote Desktop
Connection volume to your hard disk.
8.      If the Remote Desktop Connection folder was copied to your hard disk
successfully, you can move the Remote Desktop Connection volume and the
RDC100ENU.dmg file to the Trash. Be sure to move the Remote Desktop
Connection volume to the Trash before you delete the RDC100ENU.dmg file from
your hard disk.
9.      Open the Remote Desktop Connection folder that you copied to your
hard disk in step 7, and double-click Remote Desktop Connection to run the
program.
To remove this download:
To remove Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac, move the Remote Desktop
Connection folder to the Trash, and then on the Finder menu, click Empty
Trash.
