Summary: The Threat Analyst Team is raising the ThreatCon to Level 2 in
light of a new serious vulnerability in the RPC Subsystem (RPCSS) of the
Microsoft Windows family of operating systems. The vulnerability carries
a critical security rating and is believed to be remotely exploitable.
Execution of arbitrary code will occur in the security context of the
LocalSystem account, thereby resulting in a complete compromise of the
targeted host. Administrators are highly encouraged to apply the fixes
addressing this flaw provided by Microsoft in Security Bulletin
MS03-039.
The DeepSight Threat Analyst Team has released a Threat Alert regarding
this issue.
