http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840373/en-us The 2003 ver is much better but the 2000 ver is a CPU hog. I can testify to this fact. We used Excel viewer in the past without too much problem. But I have an engineer that created a monster spreadsheet that is causing a lot of resource issues. Two users with this spreadsheet open can slow the servers to a crawl. I can see xlview.exe eating up resources. Of course my boss asked a tech to add this monster to about 20 users without testing. Working to remove... I have eliminated 2000 version on the servers I rebuilt. But had a lot of trouble with file association trying to uninstall the 2000, to use 2003. ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Schneider, Chad M Sent: Friday, August 18, 2006 9:06 AM To: 'thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Subject: [THIN] Re: Excel viewer wants printer installed "Excel viewer is not recommend for terminal servers" Really? When users open a certain Excel file with the viewer it prompts them that there is no printer installed.
