I'd be interested in knowing how you fix this one. In the past, I've had to
unistall TS licensing, and then reinstall it with the licenses again.
That fixed my problem, but I've had to call the MS clearing house.
Anyway, let us know if you find a solution. I'm sure most of us have run
into this problem at least once.

Hi Malcolm,
I'd go for the registry hack. The only alternative is de-installing and
re-installing Metaframe, conserving the datastore. This doesn't take long so
it's viable as well.

There is a mix of NeoWare, IBM NetVista terminal, PCs with 95/98/W2k and =
XP. None can connect on ICA but all work fine with RDP. Hope this helps

What sort of clients do you have?
The difference between ICA and RDP from the TS viewpoint is that ICA =
clients that are unable to cache a TS CAL locally (eg non win32) get a
"proxy" = TSCAL where the TS CAL is cached on the Metaframe server under
hklm\software\citrix\mslicensing. I'm not 100% certain this doesn't also
happen for some types of standard ICA clients.
Anyway, when an ICA client logs on, the metaframe server then passes the =
TS licensing server the cached TS CAL info. If it's wrong, your login will
fail.
I can envisage a scenario where this cache could get damaged if your = disks
went offline, basically screwing up your TS CAL lookup.
I'd be tempted to backup the mslicensing key, and then judiciously = delete
the contents of the keys under mslicensing. That will at least reset things
so that the licensing has a chance of working. Restart the IMA service
between deletions.

Hello,
We have had a Citrix server mark its RAID5 drives offline due to a =3D =
problem with BIOS. After we upgraded the BIOS on the RAID Backplane the =3D
= server came up fine, but no users could login using ICA. We can get in
=3D = using RDP without any problem. The Server is a Intel Whitebox running
=3D Win2K =
(SP3)
and XP (FR2). The only error being reported is EventID: 1004 The = terminal
server =3D cannot issue a client license and 1003: The terminal service =
client '%1' =3D has provided an invalid license.=3D20 We have googled, =
technetted and citrix support the error and NOTHING =3D relates to the
problem we are = having. The server has 20 TSCals and 20 Citrix XP licenses
all appear to be =3D properly installed. This server has been running for 2
years without a = =3D problem except for the RAID drive issue. We cannot
even run a MF client = =3D connection from the server console. I am at a
loss on how to get this = =3D working, but I am about to spend a entire
night rebuilding it. If =3D = anyone has any suggestions, please let me
know....I need them
So Far we have tried:
re licensing both TS and MF
moving the server to a new farm using chfarm.exe
We did what was asked in Citrix support article Document ID: CTX564283
rebuilt the LHC Re servicepacked both MF and W2k tried to connect with
clients that have never connected to this server
Each change makes NO difference and the only mention of any problem in = =3D
the eventviewer is the EventID: 1004 The terminal server cannot issue a =3D
= client license. and EventID: 1003 The terminal service client '%1' has =3D
= provided an invalid license.=3D20
Any suggestions short of a rebuild would be great.
