I think that ICA can handle resolution even higher than that, I don't think
the total resolution is the issue, something else is going on....

I have two monitors sitting side by side, each is 1680 x 1050, the
published desktop is 98% of user's desktop.

Yeah, I am aware of what happens with pub app, which is what's making
me curious about what's going on. I understand that there is limited
memory etc, but it's just doesn't seem to fit... I would expect to see
colour degradation or something an error if it was that.. and I am
just not getting that.....Hence why I think it's config or something
it just won't do. I will get a machine with two smaller monitors and
publish out something at 256 colour tomorrow and see what it does.
