Not to mention the fact that you risk getting sued by SCO if you use flavors
of UNIX/Linux. ; ) Torvalds is right they are smoking crack! Now they are
going to sue IBM for copyright infringment of Unix which they now claim they
fully own.

I know MS is not going to sue me if I buy their products.

SP1a cuts the number of patches by 20 or so, there is still another 20-25 to
go. Funny you mention SP1a, it exists only because of a BS move to remove
Java from Windows XP as Microsoft can't play nice with Sun. Nice.

I'm simply saying that MS could/can do a better job. They can also roll-up
the security patches more often. You'd think we'd have IE SP2 by now.

Anyways, FreeBSD and Linux are nice but not Corporate Desktop ready. So no,
people don't have a choice yet. Granted, it's getting close. But no ciga

Microsoft has released SP1a for XP. This includes a lot of the security
patches you would have to download individually via Windows update. It
is however a 134MB download.

I am not at all keen on MS rushing untested or superficially tested
service packs as the cure can be worse than the ill.

p.s. Remember there is a choice on the desktop. You don't have to run MS
at all. Check out FreeBSD or a Linux distribution like Redhat.
