Two questions:

1. Are your LAN clients (if any) affected also?
2. What hardware platform (server and NIC) are you using?

Checked your network gear for errors? Cable swappage, etc?

Doesn't sound to me like its an issue in your datacenter. Sounds to me
like maybe its on the BR of your central location.

Subject: [THIN] Disconnects...maybe due to backend operations???

Hi all,
=20
I've been working on this one for a while, and I really hope someone can
help. The problem description and notes are below:
=20
Problem Description:
=20
Users across WAN connections are being disconnected from their Citrix
sessions with varying frequency. Users are reporting that they are
usually performing a file operation like opening an Office file or
saving a document. Some users are being disconnected when they start up
an application that is tied to a backend DB. All the DB servers and
file servers are located in the data center with the Citrix servers.
=20
Notes:=20
- For some users, this happens once a week, while others report 2-4
disconnects per day. Most users report somewhere between those two.
- Farm is MetaFrame XP FR2 with SP3. Clients are either 6.30 or 7.1.
- Does not seem to be server specific, although clients have identified
servers that they feel are better than others.
- Disconnections don't seem to be application specific, except for the
DB-related disconnects, which can only be one application.
- Users receive the "trying to reconnect" message from the Citrix client
only part of the time. Other times (an almost equal amount) the users
receive no message at all - the application just disappears. In either
case, the PN icon in the system tray flashes as if it's lost its
connection.
- Sometimes on reconnection, the users will receive a message saying
that they already have too many instances of the applications running.
This usually happens when they receive no "trying to reconnect" message.
The server shows the session state as "active."
- Users in the same location as the servers do not have any problems.

Thanks in advance,

Gabe Knuth
