Hi Svein, In Win2k prior to SP3, setting DisablePaging Executive to 1 could cause server hangs. This has allegedly been fixed in SP4 so it should be fine. The thought of paging out drivers to conserve physical memory never really appealed to me, but then neither did hanging servers. Since paging is absolutely the slowest memory activity by far, anything that reduces paging (unless it breaks something else) will be advantageous. I'm about to try running a couple of 2003 production systems (4 GB RAM) with no page file. The tests looked okay so now for a real world trial. regards, Rick Ulrich Mack Volante Systems ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Svein Arild Haugum Sent: Fri 12/11/2004 5:50 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] DisablePagingExecutive What is the recomended setting for this registry key? Should you use it, or let it stay put at 0?
