I have generally used HKEY_CURRENT_USER in the past but am tending to use .ini files in %HOMEDRIVE%\%HOMEPATH\IniFiles nowadays. We sometimes have to delete corrupt user profiles to fix problems and it's nice to keep the .ini files outside the profile so that personal settings are not lost. Is a .ini file in the Windows folder the only way? For example, these are for like dialogs that have a checkbox on them that say something like a "Don't ask me this again" type of question. Where do I store that they checked this? Any answers to these would be helpful. Chad M. Schneider Technology Analyst II Curwood, Inc.
