[THIN] Database Connection Server requires software upgrade error msg

Does anyone know what this error msg means? I get it in the CMC when
looking at the Summary Database info. It's the first item listed under
status. Whatever is going on, I can't configure the database to point to
the SQL server that I use. I am running all the servers in this farm at
FR3. Do I have to run a command to upgrade the existing RM database on the
SQL server?
