Always dissolve a team first definitely and enable any disabled network cards, reset your network settings post build. I also do the following when creating the image (I know this is off topic of applying the image) comes from a HP RDP document: remove the c:\wfcname.ini (if it exists) Delete the line WSID=NAME_OF_SERVER from the file c:\program files\citrix\independent management architecture\mf20.dsn Stop the IMA service and change to manual After a server has the image applied, recreate the local host cache. -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Steve Greenberg Sent: 23 September 2005 01:31 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: D'Oh! - Imaging Procedure (PART II) That is what I recommend also, it seems to be the cleanest way to build a new server, scripting a PS install is very easy these days..... You may also want to consider creating a post image script... Of which you could install MetaFrame via a script rather than trying to image it. Here's the procedure I use after a machine has been imaged... pain-stakingly simple. 1. Login as local admin. 2. Dissolve teamed network connection, recreate with correct ip address. (This is to reset the MAC address / routing tables) 3. Run NEWSID.EXE to generate a new sid and rename computer name at this point. 4. System will reboot. 5. At this point, you can add the computer back to the domain only after deleting the existing Active Directory Object for that computer. Once added, move AD object back into correct Citrix OU. 6. Change UID entry to one at random in w:\program files\citrix\system32\ctxsma.conf, restart Citrix XML service, add server again into Secure Gateway Console. 7. ensure anti-virus software is correctly communicating to management server. 8. ensure appsense is correctly communicating. Is there anything else that's been missed? ******************************************************** This Weeks Sponsor: triCerat Inc. You need Day Zero Protection!
