Hi Bart, Use 802.11b or bluetooth in the ipaq. Bluetooth has shorter range but uses less power. At the other end obviously either an 802.aa access point or bluetooth access point (www.axis.com <http://www.axis.com> ). The ipaq picks up an IP address via dhcp and then synchronises with the back end (synchrologic or extndconnect). Not sure about the Palm tungsten. regards, Rick Ulrich Mack rmack@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Volante Systems 18 Heussler Terrace, Milton 4064 Queensland Australia tel +61 7 32467704 -----Original Message----- From: Bart.Groenewoud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:Bart.Groenewoud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, 2 July 2003 9:40 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Connection Ipac Pocket PC >> citrix Thanx Ruud and Rick, Can you tell me a little more about the nic (use of a sererate ip-number?), and xtndconnect. Which type of iPaq are you using and platvorm. (MF XP FR2?) Do you also have experience with two type of PDA's on one server. We use iPaq 5450 and also Palm Tungsten. We now put a NIC in the iPaq and synchronize with xtndconnect. Works great. You can run one copy of activesync on a server before things get a bit difficult. We've tested things using serial docking (usb disabled in registry) and it almost works okay. But if you want to support a lot of users, then you're better off looking a a "proper" enterprise synchronisation product like Synchrologic.
