How ICA client locates the farm also depends on the protocol chosen. - If protocol is TCP/IP client is broadcasting for the data collector - If protocol is set to TCP/IP+HTTP client is trying to resolve "ica" through DNS If there were no "ica" entry in the DNS (at least originally) my guess is that protocol is set to just TCP/IP. This is also a default setting out of the box for the PN client. Next I would check Windows profile for the user and blow away ICA Client subfolder of Application Data. This way you know there is no history of the old farm left (assuming you did not use pre-configured PN client). Now I would try to connect again and see which farm is picked. This way clients will resolve through DNS instead of broadcasting for ICA services. I then added an alias to the DS server called ICA, but that dies not solve it. I guess what I am trying to ask is: Do I need to specify the server location address or should it be able to auto-resolve it? _________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph: (540) 653-8859 Fax:(540) 653-8575 -----Original Message----- From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Russell Robertson Sent: Monday, June 05, 2006 10:43 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Connecting to wrong farm I haven't checked recently, but the ICA client looks for an DNS entry called ICA. If you set us this entry, this may solve it. ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Minero, Hector B CIV K55 Sent: 05 June 2006 14:34 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Connecting to wrong farm No, I don't. I uninstalled MetaFrame from all the servers, but the clients keep trying to connect to the old farm by default. I assume this is being done by broadcast. The only way I can get the clients to go to the new farm is by specifying a Server location in PN. Is there a way I can stop the old farm from being broadcast to the clients?
