What you are attempting to accomplish is a cross domain drive mapping. First make sure that the ID you are using to login to domain1 also exists in domain2. Make the passwords the same as well and keep them in sync. At login you can run a login script that looks like this: net use f: /del net use f: \\server2\m$ /user:domain2\userid (Do a net use help for more info.) Note that the direction the slashes is critical. Get it wrong and the net use won't work. Alternatively, you can logon as the user and use Windows Explorer to create a permanent drive mapping as well. It looks different in NT than it does under Win2K, but the key step is to connect to the remote drive as a different user, i.e. as a member of the other domain. I like the login script solution because it resets the mapping at each login. Persistent drives mapped via Windows Explorer have a nasty habit of disappearing when users disconnect them. -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Greenberg [mailto:steveg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 12:31 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Client Drives from ICA session In that case the client is Server1. However, it is possible that if you mount the client's drives in the first explicity that they would come across. That is, on Server 1 browse through the client network and actually open the drives in question. Then open up the Server 2 session and do the same thing. This might work, never tried it though. I know it's confusing. __________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph:(540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Greenberg [mailto:steveg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 2002 12:16 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Client Drives from ICA session Hector, That should work by default if the correct rights are in place. That = is, an ICA client run from Server1 to Server2 should so the drives of Server2 = as drive letters in the ICA session. Is that what you meant? Steve Greenberg Thin Client Computing 34522 N. Then from that same ICA session = I connect to Server2-Domain2. I've configure Server2 to map all client drives. Is there a way that Server2 can map the drives from server1? I understand this is an odd scenario, but we've run into a situation = that requires this kind of setup. __________________________________ Hector Minero NSWCDD Code K55 Ph:(540)653-8859 Fax:(540)653-8575 ********************************************** This weeks sponsor New Moon Canaveral IQ New Moon Canaveral IQ is an intelligent alternative to Citrix=AE MetaFrame (tm) for delivering and managing centrally-deployed Windows-based applications http://www.newmoon.com *********************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ********************************************** This weeks sponsor New Moon Canaveral IQ New Moon Canaveral IQ is an intelligent=20 alternative to Citrix=AE MetaFrame (tm) for=20 delivering and managing centrally-deployed=20 Windows-based applications http://www.newmoon.com *********************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or=20 set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ********************************************** This weeks sponsor New Moon Canaveral IQ New Moon Canaveral IQ is an intelligent alternative to Citrix® MetaFrame (tm) for delivering and managing centrally-deployed Windows-based applications http://www.newmoon.com *********************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ********************************************** This weeks sponsor New Moon Canaveral IQ New Moon Canaveral IQ is an intelligent alternative to Citrix® MetaFrame (tm) for delivering and managing centrally-deployed Windows-based applications http://www.newmoon.com *********************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm ********************************************** This weeks sponsor New Moon Canaveral IQ New Moon Canaveral IQ is an intelligent alternative to Citrix® MetaFrame ? for delivering and managing centrally-deployed Windows-based applications http://www.newmoon.com *********************************************** For Archives, to Unsubscribe, Subscribe or set Digest or Vacation mode use the below link. http://thethin.net/citrixlist.cfm
