Which select are you choosing to recompile... The first one is to
uncompress, the third option is to recompile.

OK your procedure allowed me to customize the install, except for the
last step of repackaging all the files back up into a single .msi file.
Even though I pick that option, I still get a new installation point
with all the files uncompressed and in their directory trees. However, I
can live with that! Thanks for the help!
