Hi Jeff,

HAving a system TEMP/TMP variable is not only okay, it would have to be
considered mandatory.

I'm surprised there isn't one already, unless you're running NT 4.0 TSE.

regards,

Rick

Subject: [THIN] Clearcase

Is anyone running Clearcase on NT4.0/1.8?

I've gotten it installed okay, but the Clearcase Doctor diagnostic tool is
saying I need to set up a system environment variable pointing to a temp
directory. I spoke with the local Clearcase admin here at my company and
explained how terminal server handles user temp directories (and the TEMP
and TMP variables), and they confirmed that Clearcase does indeed require a
system variable.

Is this going to be a problem?

Anything else I should be watching for? Does the app play nice in a
multi-user environment?

        Thanks,

        Jeff
