Matt,=20 I you want, I will email you off list with some info on how we might fit in the scenario. We do not support the Dynamic local profile right now like ZEN (coming soon though with a solution for that.) Thanks. Does it support doing things like Novell/MS integration (Dynamic Local User, Roaming profiles stored on Netware server, etc) like Zenworks? >>> G.Meulendijks@xxxxxx 6/24/2003 4:37:13 AM >>> You might want to take a look at the new release of RES PowerFuse (6.03). It has many things to offer more then ZEN can... Would be interested to see how much easier (or harder) it would be using RES PowerFuse instead of ZEN... www.respowerfuse.com=20 You can download a free copy Guido=3D09 -----Original Message----- From: Tony Lyne [mailto:Tony.Lyne@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D20=20 Sent: 24 June 2003 01:59 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix/Novell Integration Feedback Have you tried Zen4 yet. It has much improved Terminal services support. =3D20 We did an implementation with Zen3.2 last year for a client and it worked but there was a lot of mucking around you had to do to get it to work properly. We had to escelate numerous calls to Novell for support as there was lots of issues encountered. =3D20 Im about to start an implementation for a large client running Zen 4 so I will be very interested to see how much easier it is. So from the prep work done it looks good.=3D20 =3D20 T. -----Original Message-----=3D20 From: Matt Kosht [mailto:matt.kosht@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D20=20 Sent: Tue 24/06/2003 1:39 a.m.=3D20 To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx=3D20=20 Cc:=3D20 Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix/Novell Integration Feedback =3D09 The point of DLU (I think) is to displace the need for Active Directory anything. You use NDS (eDirectory) instead. The Citrix farm could just be in a simple Windows workgroup vs. Active Directory tree. The roaming profile controlled by Zenworks can be stored in the users Novell home directory or any networked drive accessible by the user. There is no need for creating the user in the local SAM as it is done by DLU on the fly. I haven't attempted to run a mixed Novell/Zenworks and Microsoft AD environment so I can't really speak to how or if it works. I suspect you would need a tool like DirXML or Metadirectory services to sync up the 2 directory services otherwise you would have to manually sync user ID's and passwords (unrealistic with real security and real users). Anyone on the list done this? I wouldn't mind hearing about your experiences. >>> dsanchez@xxxxxxxxx 6/20/2003 2:41:38 AM >>> =3D09 Ok, thaks for your response, but if i use DLU user volatile, can i use roaming profile and mantain working the farm such as Windows 2000 =3D3D Active Directory integration? The roaming profiles can be read from a share =3D3D whitout users in local SAM? =3D09 Thanks =3D09 > ________________________________ > Fdo: David S=3D3DE1nchez-Mariscal Molina. > (Divisi=3D3DF3n de Sistemas) > REYCOM > (Redes y Comunicaciones) > C/ Alcal=3D3DE1 135, Edificio Reycom * 28009 Madrid > (*:914 261 333 - Fax: 914 261 390) > http://www.reycom.es=20 > *: dsanchez@xxxxxxxxx=20 > ___________________________________ >=3D3D20 =3D09 =3D09 -- No attachments (even text) are allowed -- -- Type: application/ms-tnef -- File: winmail.dat ******************************************************** This weeks sponsor - RTOSoft TScale=3D20 Complaints about applications response time - DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
