Well,
When using filemon, I have determined that when the sound plays fine,
the only difference is that the machine accesses the imalhc.mdb cache
file which points it at our SQL sever. Whenever it stammers and does not
function properly, it does not call this file.
Does anyone know what affect this might have on it, and how to remedy it
if this is the case?

Coming up with nothing via Regmon. Everything looks identical. I put my
test machine in the switchport right next to the IMAP Server that the
.wav files play on with a different cat-5 cable and same result. Also
pulled it locally onto the Citrix Server and tried with no good result.
I guess a packet analyzer is next in line.

Have you used filemon/regmon on the good/bad servers to see if there is
something missing in the background?

Unfortunately I can't change the compression on the .wav files, since it
is hard-coded configuration into the software that does it.
Guess I am out of luck then?
I still don't understand why it would work on one, though... and not the
others.
