Correct. We have different NT4 policies and AD GPO's that apply to different personel. If they are a manager, they get different desktops and icons. If you are a sales person, you get different icons and desktop as well. But, everyone has the Control Panel applet disabled, drives hidden, access to CMD, etc. It all depends on what you want to give users access to. And remember, they are users. There are so many ways to do it and things = to lock down that I think it has become an art form. There are a few ways to do it. Profiles - mandatory or regular. Group Policy - if you are using Windows 2000 and Active Directory Policy editor - if you are using NT4 Scripts - Kix or VB script can do wonders 3rd Party - things like Desktop Manager from Tricerat (or whatever they = call it these days) It depends on what you consider locked down and what you are comfortable = with managing and working with because in the long run you are the one = who will have to fiddle with it the most.
