Not sure if this answers your question. We had a similar issue after a migration to DSL with some Cisco kit. It turned out that the MTU was incorrect. We found this out by doing simple ping tests with larger packet sizes We had a bunch of windows based Terminals that would not connect or when they did , would drop connections frequently. http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/columns/cableguy/cg0704.mspx That URL provides some useful information. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Matthew Shrewsbury" <MShrewsbury@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2005 7:04 PM Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix lock-up over IP-VPN I'd be trying to locate the loss. It sounds like your actually losing IP connectivity? Start with simple things like from a remote site pinging a Citrix server. Is the speed constant, do you drop pings? Check the router, maybe run some logging on the router... We just migrated to an IP-VPN network over DSL for almost all our remote offices. After some initial problems the provider managed to get it all working and everyone was happy. But now after about 2 week into happiness, the real world kicked in.....the connections are so damn slow, and even disconnect Citrix sessions. I'll give an example I encountered today... Remote office 512/512 line connection. (before the migration that had a 300K line) - 11 thin clients - 2 printers Noone was printing, noone was working....I was the only one logged in to the Citrix farm. Suddenly after approx. Five minutes the system locks up and stays like that for minutes.....after that it disconnects and I get the usual error. I can reconnect and return to my session but the same will happen every so much minutes for the whole day. No I looked at the performance graphs of that day at the portal of the provider and it states we never came over 100K. So somewhere else shoudl be the bugger causing all this. Mind you we have 20 locations...and only 3 operate fine these days... The three locations that operate fine have not yet migrated to this network. And the main office of course works fine, so the issue is not the network internally but some devices connecting to it. The lines connect to a Cisco 82x something router (provider operated) with 13.2 IOS version on it...this IOS made trouble also before so my guess is in this direction. Hope this chaotic story gives some idea of the trouble we are seeing right now....maybe anyone had any idea on where to start...or had similair issues and solved them.... Any thoughts are welcome...
