Steve, you could implement a timed script to bounce the spooler every hour or so... as per mftunetip.pdf... Sorry ignore my last reply to this. After about 15 minutes the server = =3D free'ed itself back up and is now working as per normal (for how long I =3D don't know!!!). Usually we have around 30-35 users logged in at the same time, but this =3D morning only have around 20-25 so server is not as busy as it usually = =3D is. There were a couple of 30mb jobs in the printer spool, maybe this was = =3D the problem. I cleared all the jobs and have disabled the printer =3D spooler for a while to see how that goes. Would welcome any thoughts and comments, Thanks again, Steve -----Original Message----- From: Andy Lalaguna [mailto:Andy.lalaguna@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 February 2003 10:32 AM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix locking up... As a bit of a lateral thought. When the server freezes, does it free up after a short period of time? Profile sizes...? Hard disk performance...? Are peoples sessions freezing as other users are logging on... Disk subsystem had caused this behaviour for me in the past. AndyL -----Original Message----- From: Steve Rance [mailto:Steve.Rance@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: 05 February 2003 10:33 To: Thin @ Freelists (E-mail) Subject: [THIN] Citrix locking up... (1 Citrix Server, Windows 2000 SP2,Metaframe XPs FR2) This morning the Citrix server is regularly locking up. Users that are =3D3D3D currently in Citrix the applications running freeze, but they can start =3D3D3D new applications from the start menu which then freeze themselvies after =3D3D3D a few minutes. =3D3D3D20 Anyone trying to log in, either via the Console, RDP, or ICA, it allows =3D3D3D the userid and password to be entered but then hangs with just the = =3D3D3D desktop background showing. The only thing that I can do then is reboot =3D3D3D the server. Once the server is in this state, I have managed to launch Task Manager, =3D3D3D and the CPU usage is around 90% to 95% idle and memory usage is low. The only thing that appears in the event log prior the server getting in =3D3D3D this state is the informational application log message: Source: Winlogon Event ID: 1002 Description: The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was =3D3D3D restarted. The server has now done this 4 times in the last 2 hours. Any ideas as to why this is happening, or any pointers to=3D3D3D20 I would be very grateful for any help on this!
