FYI, Fixed it by enabling verbose logging for logon/log off events in the registry. Output was... USERENV(bf8.cd0) 16:02:56:781 LibMain: Process Name: M:\WINNT\System32\logonck.exe USERENV(c38.c30) 16:03:24:890 LibMain: Process Name: M:\WINNT\system32\net.exe We were able to pinpoint logonck.exe (the hanging process) as ServerBoss, and after putting it in debug mode we realized that - Whoops, we'd taken down a Citrix Server and it was hanging on it trying to locate sessions. I tried each of these options, and none of them produced a different result. I also uninstalled MS Hotfix 329170 to see if perhaps it was having problems loading/unloading roaming profiles. That didn't seem to work, either... but I suppose that would also affect RDP connections. At this point I'm at a loss. -----Original Message----- From: Ron Oglesby [mailto:roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D20 Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 2:05 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix is slow loading Desktop Start disabling client devices and options one at a time. Start with printers, then move onto disk drives, com/lpt ports, etc. Also try disabling the client time zone mapping etc. after each change login with an effected user from an effected workstation and see what gives. Also make sure your even viewer logs are client. No cltmgr errors, not license errors etc. Ron Oglesby Senior Technical Architect =3D3D20 RapidApp Office 312.372.7188 Mobile 815.325.7618 email roglesby@xxxxxxxxxxxx =3D3D20 -----Original Message----- From: Ryan Lambert [mailto:rlambert@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]=3D3D20 Sent: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 12:08 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Citrix is slow loading Desktop Recently, we have noticed severe degradation when logging in to Citrix via the network. Whenever a user logs in, it takes about 15-20 seconds for the Desktop to actually load. This happens on both Wyse Winterms and PCs with the newest ICA Client. We are currently running MetaFrame XP 1.0 FR2 w/SP2. We run login scripts/roaming profiles, etc. off of a central server. In addition to having restarted the main Citrix Server and the central server where profiles/farm database, etc. are stored... this is what we have tried so far: =3D3D20 - Removing login scripts/profile directories from profile - Disabling AntiVirus - Stop Spooler Service and log on - Check hard disk space / fragmentation - Check CPU usage / Mem. usage - Empty all .dmp files from user profiles / hard disk - Clear Temporary Internet File cache(s) - Check network latency / packet loss - Verified Load Balancing is working - Reindex Database / Optimize - Check inbound/outbound traffic logs to rule out DDoS/Compromise. =3D3D20 Also note, that when logging into these machines over the network via RDP, the login time is near instantaneous... so it appears to be an issue directly related to Citrix. Interestingly enough, the Master browser locked up a few days ago, and I believe this is around when the issues began... but I cannot seem to pinpoint any problems in the Windows 2000 Event Logs, or within Metaframe itself. =3D3D20 Does anyone have any suggestions as to tracking this down? =3D3D20 TIA, Ryan =3D3D20 ******************************************************** This Week's Sponsor - Emergent Online EOL's Universal Printer new Features include: Network Printing, Pagestreaming, 2400 DPI.
