Thanks very much for your input. I guess he is going to have to give it a shot and see what happens. We will probably have to call the provider and find out more info. Latency is the big issue as has been stated. We had it for ships in the Gulf of Mexico where the satelite was a segment of our WAN, and satelite Internet connections for remote offices in Mexico and the western US. If I remember correctly we lengthened the TCP/IP timeout setting, and increased MTU size on each Citrix server. (Ring any bells with you gurus out there?) Also, on the Satelite WAN segment we used Packeteer for prioritizing traffic. Also ran, VOIP and fax over the same line, plus a webcam to show off our cool boat : ) We did have usable if occassionally patchy connectivity. It think it can be fine if you set the proper expectations. In the cases above there was really no other good connectivity option (dial up land line in the remote areas, and cellular service in parts of the Gulf.) hth, CW On 9/16/05, Steve Greenberg <steveg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > > Just hope he is not drinking a StarBucks and watching ESPN at the same > time J > > > > > Steve Greenberg > > Thin Client Computing > > 34522 N.
