I haven't used Kiosk mode much to be honest. I primarily use it as a SSL web interface, but I have messed with the SSL VPN side of it (which I found to be rather basic, but did not honestly do much reading on it). You can download the AdminGuide from citrix.com and it has details on Kisok mode. Briefly: Uses a Java client if JVM is high enough, otherwise uses the access portal page, which requires a download. Kisok mode lets you enable a firebox web browser, shared network drives, access to VNC, RDP, Telnet, SSH, and Citrix Client. I basically use mine as the CSG software product, but instead of having to secure a windows box, the Access Gateway is a hardened Linux box. It also gives me these extra features, and from what I've read of some older Citrix KB articles, they have already added features to the Access Gateway in it's current version that did not exist in the previous, so it seems to be an upgradable platform. I'd imagine, The Secure ID stuff would be things you integrated on the WI box. ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rob Beekmans Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 4:43 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Re: Citrix access Gateway we have a bank in vienna that needs a citrix environment as secure as possible... from what I read there's some kiosk mode with no client installation. when I hear no clien installation....I wake up....sure there's some plugin needed isn't there? the applicance gives you the option....the publish apps to normal citrix client outside and/or run in kiosk mode or users have " no" clients.????? how about intergration with secure ID? do you have any experience with that? thanks for your time... I can try and answer any questions. I find them to be extremely basic and no frills, easy to management, just do what they are advertised to. ________________________________ From: thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:thin-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rob Beekmans Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2005 4:10 PM To: thin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [THIN] Citrix access Gateway Hi, I'm looking for more than one PDF about the new Citrix appliance, the access gateway.
